Popular tourist destination Mount Mayon is now threatening to erupt at any given moment which is why alert level 2 has been raised by authorities as of today.

Mayon had as series of phreatic eruptions earlier meaning it spew out lots of ash causing the immediate vicinity to be covered in grey and white. The ash fall could possibly land on nearby barangays in the area of Camilig, Daraga and Guinobatan, Albay.

In tandem with the phreatic eruptions was the advisory release of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council or PDRRMO in Albay disallowing any human activity within a range of six kilometers of the danger zone.

All residents in the vicinity are being asked to evacuate. This includes 7 barangays within range.
