New and Improved Jeepneys Under PUV Modernization Program Ready to Hit the Roads!
The Philippine government has initiated the release of modern jeepneys under the PUV Modernization Program spearheaded by the administration. It is reported that starting this month, the public transport vehicles will start hitting the roads.
The PUV Modernization Program aims to replace old jeepneys still roaming the streets of Manila with newer ones that are much better looking and brand new.
According the cheif of Inter-Agency Council on Traffic or I-ACT, Time Orbos, starting january to March, they will be releasing between 500 to 3000 units of the modern jeepneys.
The agency also advised all owners and operations of old jeepneys to undergo the Motor Vehicle Inspection System or MVIS in order to determine if their vehicles can still be allowed to accept passengers.
