Nakaka-iyak Ang Reunion Ng Isang OFW At Kanyang Magulang Na Hindi Nagkita Ng 16 Years!
A typical Filipino Christmas celebration is marked by the attendance of everyone in the family. The hardest part for Overseas Filipino Workers is not getting to be with your family during special occasions, especially during the holidays. Most of them try to save up their day-offs and allowed vacation days, so they’ll be able to claim it in time for Christmas.
Juan Paolo Fermin spent 16 Christmases apart from his parents, which is why he dreamt of someday flying his parents home. Fermin recently fulfilled his dream, as shown in a video he shared last December 18. In the video, Fermin went out into the cabin and surprised his mother with flowers.
More than the flowers, his mother was more surprised with the fact that her son was actually their plane’s co-pilot. It was also the plane that was going to take her home. The two celebrated their reunion with a heart-warming hug. Fermin also thanks Philippine Airlines, where is he is currently working, for making the reunion possible.

It’s interesting how dreams take form – like when a sick loved one prompts a young man to become a doctor, or being with kids who haven’t had the chance to read and write inspires one to teach; as a child, to me it was pretty simple: I wanted to fly my parents home. Today, after 16 Christmases apart – and unknown to my parents, I was actually part of the crew that was flying them home for Christmas. It’s been a wonderful year for me – a year of dreams turning into reality, and this is definitely the cherry on top. Thank you, Philippine Airlines, for this amazing opportunity. Have a merry Christmas, everyone.
