The Malacañang Palace proudly saluted all the Filipino soldiers who showed their bravery by risking their lives in fighting for the freedom of Marawi city from the hands of the terrorist Maute group.
According to Presidential Spokesman Ernesto Abella, nothing can compare to the courage, resilience and sacrifice that the soldiers showed during the war against terrorism in Mindanao.
According to Abella, the war is now over in Marawi city, since leaders of the terrorist group namely Isnilon Hapilon, Omar Maute and Mahmud Ahmad have been successfully killed. This now opens the door for the government to focus on the rehabilitation of the city.
